Rebecca Garden, PhD, is Associate Professor of Bioethics and Humanities at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She has published on empathy and medicine in New Literary History and the Journal for General Internal Medicine and on the global black market in organs and Korean cinema in the Journal for Medical Humanities. Her current research focuses on disability and medicine.
