Stephanie Brown Clark received an M.A. in English Literature in Canada, and another literary degree at Trinity College in Dublin. She completed her M.D. at McMaster University in Canada before moving to the Netherlands in 1990. At the University of Leiden, Netherlands, she received a Ph.D. in medical history and literature. She teaches courses in literature and medicine, and in medical history at University of Rochester Medical Center.
