Announcing the Art & Anatomy Website

By Katie Grogan, DMH, MA & Laura Ferguson

The Master Scholars Program in Humanistic Medicine (MSPHM) at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is thrilled to announce the launch of a new website: ArtandAnatomy.com. The site features the recently published book, Art & Anatomy: Drawings (University of California Medical Humanities Press), edited by Laura Ferguson, Artist-in-Residence for the MSPHM, and Katie Grogan, Associate Director of the MSPHM. Art & Anatomy: Drawings tells the story of an innovative anatomy drawing class developed and taught by Laura. On Tuesday evenings at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, the anatomy lab is transformed into a studio where medical students, physicians, nurses, researchers, and other health professionals gather with a spirit of creative enterprise and a unique goal: to turn anatomy into art.
The book is primarily visual and features 92 drawings, along with photographs, essays, a foreword by Danielle Ofri, MD, and a curriculum guide.

Go to ArtandAnatomy.com to learn about the book and the class on which it is based. You will also find a gallery of drawings, information about related projects, and much more!
