Summary

This is a comic poem in which the narrator describes the experience of having a head cold.

Commentary

More comic than complex, this poem might work best as an exercise in reminding physicians of the pain of even the most simple of complaints. It also provides an example of poetic imagery for beginning poets or writers. Piercy's metaphors are straightforward but surprising.
